Transport Organisation II

The subject deepens the professional knowledge acquired by studying the follow-up subject. The subject provides theoretical and practical knowledge mainly in the road transport branch, knowledge of legal regulations necessary for transport and management of transport companies. The subject also provides an overview of the international agreements used in transport (ADR, ATP, etc.) and the international trade terms INCOTERMS 2020.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Gaining knowledge of transport legal relations, international agreements and other issues related to road transport. Ability to interpret legal regulations related to road transport. Ability to consider methods of transport organisation leading to compliance with applicable legal regulations. Preparation for higher management level of transport companies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures and seminars. Lectures consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions. Seminars particularly support practical mastery of subject matter presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Elaboration of semestral work and its defence is a condition for achieving graded credit. The exam consists of a written part in the form of test and an oral part. To be admitted to the oral part, students must pass the written part.

2. Infrastructural preconditions of freight road transport
3. Legal regulation of road transport business
4. Intermodal transport
5. Transport legal relations, contract of carriage
6. Contract of carriage in international freight road transport, CMR Convention, CMR Consignment Note
7. Liability insurance
8. The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)
9. The Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be Used for such Carriage (ATP)
10. Work of drivers in freight road transport
11. Customs procedures, TIR transit customs procedure
12. Forwarding
13. Road inspections, infringements of regulations

Aims

The aim of the subject is to extend the knowledge of the road transport branch and to gain an extended legal, economic and technical awareness in this branch.
