Students will learn the basic approaches of management and its functions of planning, organizing, leadership and control.

Prerequisites

Interest in the field, the ability to learn.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching takes the form of lectures that have the character of discipline, content, terms, structure and methods. Exercises are focused on practical aspects of the lectured topics.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Within the subject Management, a continuous point system of evaluation is used with the final classification of the subject according to the ECTS scale.

Completion of the subject:
In order to be awarded credit, active participation in the exercises during the presentation and subsequent discussion, and the solution of two case studies is required.
During the semester, individual activities at exercises are evaluated using a point system, which is updated for each semester.

A student must obtain at least 50% of points to be awarded credit.

Students can earn points for:
• presentation of semestral project
• processing questions from 2 case studies
• questionnaire - voluntary activity (beyond the maximum points).

Final exam requirements: knowledge of the lectured material and its practical application.
The form of the final exam is written and is provided by theoretical part and is classified according to the ECTS scale. For its successful completion it is necessary to obtain at least 50% points.

It is a controlled course and the evaluation of the work during the entire semester is included in the final assessment.

Course completion conditions for students with an individual study plan:
1) processing of the semestral project based on personal agreement with the teacher
2) final exam

Aims

To be familiar with students with the role of management, its concepts, content, structuring, and methods.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Participation at the team sessions, lectures and other activities is compulsory, controlled and it is included in the final evaluation. Students can miss up to five team sessions per semester including exam period, except the final session focused on evaluation. Those five absences can be compensated by extra projects and tasks defined by lectures. If not compensated, the final score will be reduced for two points per each missed sessions.
ABSENCE EXCEEDING THREE TEAM SESSIONS/ACTIVITIES means that student WILL NOT PASS the course.
