Laboratory Classes in Instrumental Analysis

Selection of methods of instrumental analysis suitable for the solution of the assigned task, design of methods and protocols, realization of laboratory measurements, data treatment, data evaluation with respect to the assigned task.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Laboratory exercise - 3 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit is realization of selected tasks and properly kept laboratory notebook. Details are described in e-learning. Requirement for credits are agreement of teachers of the individual tasks - signatures in laboratory notebook.

Course curriculum

Methods of instrumental analysis eligible individually on the basis of students interests and their project. List of tasks is based on the equipment of the Institute of Physical and Applied Chemnistry. Individual task have various time capacities a student has to choise a minimal given number of hors, thy are usually 2-4 various instrumental methods.

Aims

The aim of the course is training of selection and realization of suitable methods of instrumental analysis to solve a specific assigned problem and methods of treatment and evaluation of obtained data,realized in small student teams.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Student attends selected tasks in agreement with their teachers, which is checked on the basis of the laboratory date-book by garant.

LABORATORY DATE-BOOK
Notes in laboratory date-book are destined for archivation of course and results of laboratory activities. Following details should be included in date-book:
date of record (date of laboratory activity),
name of laboratory activity,
reason of laboratory activity,
description of operating procedure,
all actual data (weights, concentrations, temperatures...),
obtained results (in written or electronic form).
