Veslování na vodě - reprezentace

The subject of rowing on water is intended for students who have rowed, are still rowing or have started rowing on water at BUT and would like to continue to develop their rowing skills so that they can represent BUT at academic competitions.

The trainings take place both on rowing machines and at the Brno dam in cooperation with the Czech Rowing Club (ČVK) and the BUT University Sports Club (VSK).
Registration takes place directly at the FCM Machina sports ground after agreement with the teacher.
The day and time of trainings on the water will be agreed at an information meeting and will be agreed according to the time possibilities of the students and the weather.

Composition of the lesson on rowing machines:
- rowing
- warming up
- dynamic stretching
- main training motif (endurance, speed endurance or sprints)
- rowing for relaxation and rest
- static elongation

Composition of the lesson on water:

- ship preparation
- heating, stretching by dynamic stretching.
- the main part of the training unit (rowing technique training, training content, free light rowing)
- cleaning of ship equipment
- static stretching.

If the weather is bad for rowing on the water, we will be indoor rowing at the ČVK on the dam.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

By completing the course, students will deepen the correct technique of rowing on a rowing machine and racing rowing boats. They will learn the technique of riding several types of rowboats (varies according to the number of people), paired rowing (2 oars) and even rowing (1 oar) and will improve their physical condition.
They will represent BUT in academic competitions.

Prerequisites

The prerequisite is:

- be able to swim
- be a racing rower or know the rowing technique of rowing
- for non-racing rowers
- completion of at least one semester of teaching on rowing machines and rowing on water

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching takes place en masse in training groups with an individual approach to correcting mistakes in rowing technique.
TEACHING ON WATER WILL BE AGREED ACCORDING TO THE TIME POSSIBILITIES OF STUDENTS AT THE INFO MEETING BEFORE THE TEACHING STARTED.

Teaching takes place on:
- rowing machines: at the Machina Fit Center
- at the shipyard of the Czech Rowing Club (ČVK): at the Brno dam
In case of bad weather, rowing lessons will take place on simulators in the area of the Czech Rowing Club shipyard or at the Machina Fit Center.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit on the basis of active participation in teaching, ie regular attendance with registration in the attendance list (2 unexcused participations are allowed). The subject is not rated by credit

Course curriculum

In the winter semester we start teaching water rowing on rowing machines at FIT CENTER MACHINA and after 6 lessons we continue teaching at the shipyard of the Czech Rowing Club (ČVK) on the Brno dam.
In the summer semester we start teaching at the dam at the ČVK shipyard and in the sixth week of teaching we move to Machina for rowing machines.

Training on rowing machines:

- Health and safety
- driving technique at different speeds and speeds
- endurance training, fitness building and technique improvement
- speed endurance training (focus on tempo and technique)
- speed training - sprints

Water rowing training:

- preparation and maintenance of ship material

- training of rowing technique on water,

- building fitness and improving technology,

- free rowing-rest and stretching




BUT representation at competitions:

- Czech academic games

Aims

Students will develop fitness on rowing machines and will develop their technique on rowing boats on the water.

Students who started rowing on water and are interested in representing BUT in academic competitions by completing the course will master the correct techniques on racing rowing boats and improve their condition.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Regular attendance with registration in the attendance list, 2 unexcused absences are allowed, apologies orally for absences in advance directly in class or by email in advance, but no later than 24.0 hours after the date of class.
Reimbursement of missed and unexcused lessons, always in agreement with the teacher directly in the specialization or in exceptional cases, will be possible during limited hours at the Machina Fit Center.
The compensation is recorded in the attendance sheet or the teacher issues a written confirmation if the attendance sheet is not available.
Other compensation options are at CESA sporting events (eg Christmas Games, Sports Day, one-off weekend educational events).

News:

Physical education classes, which take place at rented sports grounds (swimming pools, ice rink, Sokol Brno I., rowing?), Are charged - students contribute to the rental of the sports ground.
Payment for these sports is made by transfer to the school's account. All information is in the Instruction for payments in the optional subject of physical education and in the Decision on the amount of fees in the optional subject of physical education in the winter semester 2020/2021.

Contribution for rowing on water: semester / 1 registration 900, - CZK must be paid by .... for the 1st round of registration (and by October 2 for the 2nd round of registration).
Registrations of registered and unpaid lessons will be canceled in accordance with the deadlines specified in the Schedule of the academic year 2020/2021 (1st round .... and 2nd round ...).
