Aircraft Maintenance

FSI-OPOAcad. year: 2021/2022

The course is focused on the continuing airworthiness of aircrafts in accordance with Commission Regulation No. 1321/2014. Students will become familiar with the aircraft maintenance and repairs management methods, basics of diagnostics, nondestructive testing methods, aircraft repair procedures and with human factors in maintenance.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will acquire the basic knowledge and experience of aircraft maintenance and repair.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of mathematic a physics. Basic knowledge of electrical engineering. Basic knowledge of material science, machining technology, welding and riveting.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The main criterion of evaluation is the result of a written test focused on understanding the fundamental topics of the course. Elaborated exercises and active participation in the exercises are also required.

Aims

The course is aimed to acquaint students with purpose and the typical methods and procedures in aircraft maintenance and repairs.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at exercises is compulsory (80% at the minimum). The absence (in justifiable cases) can be compensated by personal consultation with the lecturer and working out individually assignments. Individual assignments must be finished and handed in during the course-unit credit week at the latest.
