Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will have a clear idea of modern approaches in management and its functions of planning, organising, leadership and control.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the fundamentals of business economy, business functions, its management and results.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Course completion:
To be awarded the credit, successful elaboration of the semester work in a predetermined time and active participation in the exercises during the presentation and subsequent discussion of the seminar papers is required.
During the semester, individual activities at the exercises are evaluated by a point system, which is updated for each semester according to the types of tasks.
Students have the opportunity to earn points for:
• individual semester project
• team presentation on a current topic
• processing questions from case studies
• corrective - additional individual project.
Exam requirements: knowledge of the subject matter and its practical applications.
The form of the written examination, the examiner decides on the oral examination on the basis of the indecisive result of the written examination.
The exam is classified according to the ECTS scale.

Passing the final exam 50%

Completion of the course for students with ISP:
1) elaboration and submission of a semester project
2) test

Completion of the course in distance form:
- solving questions from 2 case studies
- elaboration, submission and diction of a presentation topic
- elaboration, submission of a semester project
- exam

Aims

The objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge of fundamentals of management, its terms, content, structuralization and methods.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Checking the results of the semester work, the results of solving case studies, the results of processing presentation topics, checking the results of the knowledge test.
In case of excused absence from the exercise, the teacher may, in justified cases, set an alternative condition, usually the elaboration of a partial written assignment.
