Spanish Elementary 2

This course is for students with elementary knowledge of Spanish at A1- of CEFR, and it is focused on the following topics - describe a person, their age, describe daily routines, name parts of clothing, colours and materials, invite sb to a meeting, express their plans for the near future, answer the phone, talk about their experience, and recent past. The students will extend the grammar in the following areas - possessive pronouns, personal pronouns in dative and accusative, conjugate reflexive verbs (levantarse) and more irregular verbs (sallir, volver, oír...), present continuous, the future with IR A, and present perfect tense (perfecto compuesto).
There is a credit test at the end of the semester.

1 Unidad 5A – Description of people, what do people do. Family members
2 Unidad 5B – Reflexive verbs. Adjectives for physical description and personality qualities
3 Unidad 5C – Shopping and describing clothes and accessories. Asking for help and asking the price
4 Unidad 6A – Adjectives for colours. Verb forms with GUSTAR, QUEDAR, PARECER SE with adjectives in concordance with case
5 Unidad 6B – Months, years and zodiac. Events in progress. The use of progressive tenses.
6 Unidad 6C – Activities and places for leisure. Holidays and folklore in Spain.
7 Unidad 7A - Expressing future intentions. Planning alternatives. Phone calls.
8 Unidad 7B – Personal pronouns in relation to direct and indirect object. Differentiating between
9 Unidad 7C - Talking about events that already happened. Ask for the cause of an event. Apologies. Vocabulary related to geography
10 Unidad 8A - Préterito perfecto compuesto. Préterito Indefinido sloves Estar a Ir.
11 8B Revision and practice.
12 8C Conversation.
13 Credit test.

Aims

The aim of this course is to teach the basics of Spanish language and the basic communicative skills that are necessary to achieve the A1+/A2-level according to European Frame of Reference.
