Presentation of a topic related to the student's thesis. To successfully complete the course, the students are also required to actively participate in the seminars, do the tasks assigned by the teacher and come to classes regularly. At the end of the semester, they also have to take the final test.

2. Forensic engineering in transport – Vehicle components. Operation of engines.
3. Forensic engineering in construction – Properties of materials. Structural elements.
4. Forensic engineering in construction – Residential buildings. Most frequent defects and failures.
5. Forensic engineering in real estate valuation – European valuation standards. Types of values.
6. Forensic engineering in real estate valuation – Valuation methods. Valuation process.
7. Forensic engineering in real estate valuation – Urban planning. Highest and best use.
8. Forensic engineering in real estate valuation – Real estate market. Selling, buying and renting properties.
9. How to give a presentation – content and structure. Annotation of a scientific paper.
10. Students’ presentations of a topic related to their theses and interpretation of a selected scientific paper. Discussion.
11. Students’ presentations of a topic related to their theses and interpretation of a selected scientific paper. Discussion.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with terminology used in forensic engineering branches and give them the opportunity to practise useful phrases and expressions in order to prepare them for negotiating with foreign experts in similar specializations, for publishing articles in international journals and for presenting papers at international conferences.
