Presentation of a student´s project in the selected foreign language.

Knowledge of general language at B1 level according to CEFR.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Direct tuition in classroom once a week combined with self-study of study materials in e-learning courses in Moodle VUT.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Examination consists of a) submitting a written abstract of the presented project, b) oral verification of the knowledge of the professional terminology needed for the profession of architect by presenting the student's project and subsequent discussion.
In order to be successful, a student must prove that he / she is able to clearly present his / her project in the selected language, use the basic terminology of his / her field and describe his / her study at BUT.

1. Basic terminology. Working with dictionaries. Description of building exterior.
2. Description of the building structure. Regional differences in terminology.
3. Building materials. Description of their properties in architecture.
4. Types of architectural drawings and documents. Site plan description.
5. Disposition and functional zoning. Description of the building floor plan.
6. Residential buildings. Description and functions.
7. Public buildings. Classification and functions.
8. Urbanism and landscape creation. Tips for presenting in a foreign language.
9. Renovation of buildings. Monument care.
10. Revitalization of cities. Writing abstracts.
11. Training presentation of student projects. Curriculum Vitae in Foreign Language of a graduate.
12. Training presentation of student projects. Portfolio in Foreign Language of a graduate.
13. Consultation of submitted abstracts and CVs.
