Computer Skills – Introduction to GIS
FA-GIS-NAcad. year: 2020/2021
This course will help students to develop their studio designs using GIS tools. The classes provide practical work with ArcGIS Pro software and open-source spatial data. The course includes practical home assignments in which students will experience the whole process of creating a GIS project – from the creation of input data to 2D output in the form of a map.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
- Students will be able to develop a simple GIS project.
- Students will learn how to use open-source spatial data and how to complement with own data.
- Students will learn to work with spatial analyses.
- Students will be able to visualize the spatial data following the cartographic principles.
- Students will be able to build a 2D map with all details required by the cartographic principles for creating maps.
