Role of engineering geology in urban planning. Geological and technogenic risks of the environment within the assessment of the foundation soil – stability of subsoil and slope. Engineering geological mapping of the area. Engineering geological investigation for building constructions, traffic structures, water structures and for underground structures. Mud settling pond and waste disposal site and their interaction with rock environment. Geophysical methods and their application. Hydrogeological assessment of foundation soil. Borrow-pits and quarries as sources of rock material. Degradation of foundation structures during the interaction with foundation soil. Role of engineering geology in the process of reconstruction of historical structures.

2. Geological and technogenic risks of the environment within the assessment of the foundation soil – stability of subsoil and slope.
3. Engineering geological mapping of the area.
4. Engineering geological investigation for building constructions.
5. Engineering geological investigation for traffic structures.
6. Engineering geological investigation for water structures.
7. Engineering geological investigation for underground structures.
8. Mud settling pond and waste disposal site and their interaction with rock environment – particularities of investigation, environmental aspects of eng. geol. investigation.
9. Geophysical methods and their application within engineering geological investigation.
10. Hydrogeological assessment of foundation soil as a integral part of engineering geological investigation.
11. Borrow-pits a quarries as a sources of rock material for construction.
12. Degradation of foundation structures during the interaction with foundation soil.
13. Role of engineering geology in the process of reconstruction of historical structures.

Aims

The students will be acquainting with the role of engineering geology in urban planning, assessment of geological and technogenic risks of the environment and they will study in detail methods of engineering geological and hydrogeological investigation including geophysical methods in relation to designed structure or reconstruction of historical structure.
