Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the course is the detailed study of selected fragments of organic chemistry and organic synthesis. Within the lectures will be discussed in detail the chemistry of functional groups and their transformation as well as methods of protecting functional groups. Students will also be introduced to modern methods of C-C binding formation and subsequent incorporation of molecules into oligomeric and polymeric structures. The course will focus on simple and multi-stage synthesis. Students will also learn about the chemistry of dendrimers and the processes used to separate and purify organic molecules. The structure of the subject is designed so that after completing this discipline the students are well prepared for the study of other subjects, which directly theoretically and practically follow this subject.
