Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will have a clear idea of modern approaches in management and its functions of planning, organising, leadership and control.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of courses Corporate Economics, functions of company, its economics and results.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching consists of lectures, which consist of an explanation of discipline, content, terms, structure and methods. The exercises are aimed at the practical side of the lectured topics.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

For obtaining the credit it is required successful processing of semester paper at a predetermined time and active participation in exercises and subsequent discussion.
During the semester, the individual activities of the exercises are evaluated by a point system, which is updated each semester by the types of tasks.
Students have the opportunity to earn points for:
• individual term project
• Team presentation on the actual topic
• processing questions from the case studies
• test
• Correction - additional individual project.
Examination Requirements: knowledge of subject matter and its practical applications.
Form of examination: written, oral examination depends on the result of the written test.
The test is classified according to ECTS.
Fulfilment of the conditions for obtaining credit 50%
Final exam 50%

Course curriculum

Získání poznatků o pojmu management a jeho různých interpretacích. Jádrem předmětu je seznámení s jednotlivými funkcemi managementu, které jsou uspořádány v obvyklé struktuře: plánování, organizování, leadership a kontrola. Jednotlivým funkcím je věnován podrobný výklad. Pozornost je dále zaměřena na výklad důležitých přístupů aplikovaných v současné praxi organizací, jako je např. systematický přístup, procesní přístup, řízení změn a řízení rizik.
1. Management, jeho význam, definice managementu používané hlavními představiteli.
2. Některé současné přístupy k analýze managementu - manažerská věda, manažerské role, 7S, kontingenční přístup, kontingenční proměnné, Demingův cyklus.
3. Funkce v managementu – plánování, Henri Fayol, pohled na management z hlediska funkcí, plánování - definice, hierarchie plánů, priorita plánování, druhy plánů.
4. Postup plánování – Koontz, řízení podle cílů, praxe stanovování cílů, konflikty mezi cíli, oblasti pro určování cílů.
5. Organizování, definice, vztahy nadřízenosti a podřízenosti, delegování pravomoci, organizační struktura.
6. Organizování - pravidla byrokratické správy, organizační dimenze, dělba práce, rozsah řízení, principy organizování.
7. Leadership, definice, vedení vs. řízení, manažerské role, manažerská osobnost, vlastnosti, dovednosti.
8. Leadership - Evropský standard manažerských kompetencí, stimulace a motivace.
9. Kontrolování, význam kontroly jako manažerské funkce, kroky kontrolního procesu – měření, srovnání, opatření, typy kontroly – předběžná, souběžná, následná.
10. Rozhodování, typy problémů, programované a neprogramované rozhodnutí, rozhodovací proces, hodnocení alternativ, přístupy k rozhodování, styly rozhodování.
11. Procesní přístup, definice, systém managementu, principy managementu orientovaného na kvalitu.
12. Procesní přístup - procesní model, náležitosti procesního řízení, měření procesů, metriky – oblast procesů realizačních a zákaznických.
13. Řízení změny, situace pro realizaci změny, vědomí naléhavosti, koalice pro změnu, transformační vize a její komunikace, delegování, využití výsledků.

The objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge of fundamentals of management, its terms, content, structuralization and methods.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Kontrola výsledků semestrální práce, výsledků řešení případových studií, výsledků zpracování prezentačních témat, kontrola výsledků znalostního testu.
V případě omluvené neúčasti na cvičení může učitel v odůvodněných případech stanovit náhradní podmínku, zpravidla vypracování dílčího písemného úkolu.
