Studio I - Game Media - summer

The subject leads students to develop their own visual language, through the chosen medium and creative intent. On the basis of past experience, emphasis is placed on strengthening their ability to work visually. Experimenting and searching for game mechanics away from the visual solution. Passive or active "concept art". Students style and process physical or other image resources for subsequent digitization, creating prerequisites for creation within virtuality. At the theoretical level, it is continuously taught the identification and terminology of existing visual styles commonly applied across the independent and mainstream gaming scene. They are equally familiar with contemporary illustrations mainly in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

At an advanced level, students are able to digitize physical materials and other pictorial resources. He focuses on working with the author's visual language as a key communication tool for experimental game mechanics. They recognize individual visual styles across classical and digital illustrations.

Knowledge and orientation in basic topics and application of digital game media.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Students are led to realize individual or collective exercises and tasks. They continuously improve their technical and theoretical knowledge in the field. They are actively discussing and presenting their work results in the atelier field. In complementary activities, he participates in thematic exhibitions, excursions, festivals and lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To award the credit, it is necessary to submit partial studio assignments and collective or individual semester work. Subsequently, before the committee, he / she defends the results of the semester examination.
