English Intermediate MA 1 - winter

Students enhance their vocabulary, speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills at intermediate level. They improve their knowledge of various grammar phenomena such as conditionals, modals, wish sentences, reported speech, etc. They learn to speak both about general topics and topics related to their artistic disciplines and beyond. This course corresponds to B1 level of English.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Continuous assessment: essays, tests, papers , general test at the B1 level at the end of the semester. Students should be able to describe their artistic project both in a written and spoken form, they should be able to understand a short text from an art magazine, understand the basic ideas contained in an interview/lecture/presentation of a native speaker (artist, theoretician).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Seminar form; emphasis is laid on a balanced structure of the class - each class should consist of speaking, listening, reading, sometimes writing. Students are encouraged to have an equal opportunities to speak, hence discissions are led in small groups/pairs.

General B1 test at the end of the semester.

Improving of complex language skills and preparation for the general linal B1 test at the end of the semester.
