Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain knowledge from the area of the use of construction machines and assemblies of machines. They will gain new knowledge about machines and equipment for the production of basic building materials. They will be acquainted with the mechanical equipment for the execution of repairs and reconstructions of buildings and engineering structures including roads. Information about the use of machines and assemblies of machines will be extended to include the remote control of machines.
A significant part of the course will consist of the area of recycling. Furthermore, the aim of the course is for students to become acquainted with the valid legislation in the area of mechanical equipment and its use.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of construction technology with regards to construction processes, occupational safety in civil engineering, basic information about the function and use of machines and assemblies of machines.

Co-requisites

Knowledge from the area of construction technology, and construction preparation and execution.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Tuition consists of lectures, practical lessons and self-study. Participation in lectures is recommended and is compulsory for practical lessons.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Apart from attendance at practical lessons, an assigned exercise must be completed and submitted during the practical lessons for the successful completion of the subject. The conditions of a written test based on the material dealt with in the lectures must be fulfilled. A graded credit will be awarded after the presentation and submission of a seminar paper.
