Testing

FSI-XZK-KAcad. year: 2018/2019

The subject Testing will acquaint the students with EU regulations and the legal systém of Czech Republic in the area of conformity assessment of specified products. Students will also comprehend the role of state technical inspection of safety of dedicated technical devices. Students will also be familiarized with systemic and practical rules of work in testing and calibration laboratories in a way, that can be practically applied.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The subject Testing allows students to gain knowledge in the area of assessment of conformity of specified products, state technical inspection of safety of dedicated technical devices, testing and calibration of measuring instruments.

Prerequisites

Quality management systems. Applied statistics, methods for processing of measurement results. Basic terminology of metrology, technical standardization and statistics. Methods of statistical quality control.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The subject is taught in lectures, which involve presentation of basic principles and theories of the discipline. Students will actively participate in the discussion of the subject being covered. Presence in lectures is recommended. Lectures of industrial experts and excursions into companies related to the subject will be organized as possible.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Student will submit and present a report on the subject being covered. The work is graded on ECTS scale.

Aims

The objective of the subject Testing are to acquaint the students with the basics of management of state testing in the Czech Republic according to the New Legislative Framework for the Marketing of Products. Another objective is to familiarize the students with State technical inspection of safety of dedicated technical devices. The third objective is to teach students the basic rules for management of a testing and calibration laboratory, as well as with technical requirements for outputs provided by laboratories.
