Lectures are focused on explanation of basic operations (cell disruption, protein precipitation, exctraction, large-scale chromatography) used in isolation and purification of biologically active compounds (proteins, nucleic acids) from microorganisms.

2. Properties of fluids.
3. Mechanical, chemical and enzymatic cell disruption.
4. Precipitation and salting-out odf proteins.
5.Synthesis of recombinant proteins in GMO.
6. Impovement of recombinant proteins stability synthetised in vivo.
7. Protein engineering and site directed mutagenesis.
8. Extraction.
9. Extraction using aqueous two-phase systems.
10. Types of extractors and their design.
11. Large scale chromatographic techniques.
12. Enzymatic catalysis in anhydrous and quasi anhydrous solvents.
13. Validation of production quality.
