Aims

The main goal of this graduate course is to provide students introduction to molecular weight and weight distribution phenomena in relation to the polymerization mechanisms and to describe basic methods to measure molecular weight. In addition, conformational statistics of the long-chain molecules as affected by various molecular parameters is discussed as well as thermodynamics of polymer solubility and miscibility with brief description of thermodynamics of polymer blends.
