European Law in the Industrial Practice
FSI-XEV-KAcad. year: 2015/2016
The interpretation of European legal regulations, technical specifications and management systems, inclusive of their applications in conformity assessment (testing), accreditation, metrology, and technical standardization. The above activities are developed with the emphasis on the period following the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union (EU), including the harmonized controlled area, non-harmonized controlled area (national modification) as well as non-controlled (commercial) areas.
Students learn the basic attributes of the rule of law, constitutional system and the functioning of public authorities in the Czech Republic and to enable them to deepen in the broad context of social science basics own legal consciousness related to the exercise of public authority.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Introduction to legal terminology. Legal regulation of business in the Czech Republic. Legal regulation of business in the EU and legal liability for businesses in the country. The basic legislation in the field of business. Introduction to Commercial Law - basic concepts, commercial obligations, companies, cooperatives and associations, public control. Introduction to Civil Law - basic concepts, civil obligations, natural and legal persons analogy of law, public control. Introduction to trade law - basic terms, the rights and obligations of entrepreneurs, business trade operation, commencement and types of trade authorization, public control. Introduction to labor law - basic concepts, labor relations, types of contractual relations, public control. Protection of Competition. Law enforcement and enforcement proceedings in the Czech Republic and the EU.

Aims
The course enables students a better orientation in difficult structure of laws and technical rules within EU with the emphasis on the benefits of a Czech subject and the decrease of possible risks.
