Special Technology of Forming Metals

Special and unconvencional methods of sheet metal forming, forging resp bulk forming. Processes analysis, infuence of forming conditions and parameters, forming limits with respect of defects and forces. Technological sketches of methods.Applications.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
The students will acquire knowledge of conventional as well as unconventional types of technologies, and will be able to apply these technologies for particular cases of forming.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of technological courses IV. year of study.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Course - unit credit requirements: participation in the exercises, delivery of assigned papers.
The examination consists of written and oral part. The final classification will be in accordance with the article No. 13 of the Rules for Studies and Examinations valid at the Brno University of Technology since 2004/2005.

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the use of special forming methods in broad terms.
