Company Establishment And Company Management

The course expects basic knowledge acquired in related courses, in the field of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Accountancy, Fundamental knowledge of laws for business, Taxes, Corporate business and finance, Marketing and Management.
In the course “Founding and Managing an Enterprise” students will apply the knowledge acquired in the above mentioned fields and will summarize it in the end of the semester in the form of a semester work.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be familiar with modern theories used in the whole entrepreneurial process. They will acquire basic skills necessary for founding their own company. They will be able to manage their own company actively while minimizing an entrepreneurship risk.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures and seminars. Lectures consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions. Seminars particularly support practical mastery of subject matter presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Evaluation
The course unit-credit is granted on the following conditions:
1. Active participation in the seminars will be checked and evaluated by the teacher - max. 100 points.
2. Successful elaboration of a semester work and presentation in a defined term - max. 100 points.
3. Total number of points required for a course-unit credit has to be higher than 150 points.

2. The causes of successes and failures of small and medium-sized companies.
3. Establishment of small and medium-sized companies.
4. Establishment of a business vs. buying an existing business.
5. Legal entities suitable for small business.
6. Franchise business concept.
7. Successful strategies for small business.
8. Business plan.
9. Resource management in a small company.
10. Financial aspects of small business.
11. Family business.
12. The causes of bankruptcies of small businesses, drop, fall.
13. Modern business methods

Aims

The purpose of the subject is to provide students with sufficient knowledge for incorporation and subsequent management of their own company. Students will be acquainted with the philosophy of small and medium-sized companies and their position in the economy. Emphasis will also be placed on management, marketing and financial aspects of small and medium-sized companies. The issue will focus on risk engineering. Student will be able to comprehensively identify and critically analyze risk, implement and evaluate action taken in enterprises and institutions from the perspective of a small business.
