Introduction to presentation topics. Power Point presentations of the lecturer and of the invited specialist, following discussions with the students.

2. Energy: production, consumption, export, alternative sources, present and future.
3. Agriculture, soil, soil erosion, soil conservation. Land trusts.
4. Landscape, landscape mapping, mining impact, landscape restoration, invasive species.
5. Rivers. river restoration and flood control, water eutrophication, reed bed treatment plants.
6. Brownfields.
7. Public spaces: principles of success, examples (parks, squares, waterfronts). Cities for pedestrians.
8. Urban sprawl. Sustainable development. Ecological housing development.
