Fundamentals of Industrial and Business Law

Introduction into the theory of law, principles of normative regulation, the role and position of law, basic terminology and categories, private and public law, history of law, fundamentals of the law system of the CR, brief development of constitutional and civic law from 1918 till today, law of inheritance, fundamentals of labor law, labor contract, fundamentals of valid business law of the CR etc., basic principles, sources and subjects of commercial law , commercial companies and cooperatives, contractual right business , the most important types of contracts, w, intellectual property law, the most important industrial rights, basic concepts and principles of copyright, Administrative Law and Administrative procedure

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Capability of a logical thinking, deduction and one's own judgment. The students will acquire basic information on the law and its place in the cultural extension of the society life, on topical problems of a legislation practice and on a legal regulation in force, in particular in the field of civil and trade law as well as on the sector of intellectual property laws.

Prerequisites

Knowledge at the level of a secondary school graduate, current information on the bases of the political system of the Czech Republic, general knowledge.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

By means of a classified credit granted at the end of the relevant term.
Presuppositions of a credit granting: Successful result in the final test in writing

Course curriculum

The syllabus is divided by the weekly schedule:

1.Role and position of the law, basic legal terms, private law and public law, development of the private law, bases of the legal system of the Czech Republic

4.Law of Inheritance
5.Civil Trial
6.Contractual law, the most important contracts de lege lata (sales contract, conract for the work)
7.Fundamentals of industrial law
8.Fundamentals of labor law, labor contract
9.History and current status of criminal law
10.Fundamentals of criminalistics
11.Commercial law, commercial companies and cooperatives
12.Administrative law - municipalities, counties
13.Law of European Union

Aims


Students will fasten general info about the law, they will broaden knowledge from both private and public law. They will gain basic info about Czech legal system, about Constitution and power separation. Words like natural person and legal entity will be explained. Students will find out how to get married and how to get divorced. They will learn to write complaint, testament and labor contract. They will see how the decision of the court looks like. The most important contracts in the frame of civil and business law (e.g. sales contract, contract for the work etc.) will be described. After brief introduction into the history of criminal law the students will gain info about the most important bodies of the crime. Also copyright will be mentioned. At the end students will be informed about fundamentals of administrative law (communities, regions).

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The participation in the lecture-courses is not compulsory. For the students of a combined study form consultations and Inglearning are available. Each of students has to take part in consultation weekly and problems of subject are solved.
