Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary for the workplace, as well as grammar structures for everyday communication at B1 level (intermediate).
Prerequisites
Course is intended for students who are familiar with the language at pre-intermediate level. It is a follow-up to the course AJ1B, successful completion of which is a necessary prerequisite for the course AJ2B.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course it taught by means of language lessons focused on practicing language skills and developing vocabulary. It includes also individual work of students in the elearning environment.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively, worked out assigned tasks and passed a credit test. Final evaluation covers the student’s work in the exercises and the knowledge tested by the examination. The examination consists of a written and oral part. The exam corresponds to the B1 level according to the Common European Framework and tests the grammar and lexical structures covered in the course (grammar, vocabulary, fonetics). The credit test and exam have one regular term and two resits.

Aims
The course is intended to teach English as a foreign language at general level. Students learn basic grammar and lexical structures at B1 level (intermediate) necessary for everyday communication.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at seminars is systematically checked by the teacher, as well as students' systematic work. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.
