Introduction to the subject, principles of sanitary equipment design. Drainage systems inside buildings. Water sources for buildings, water supply systems. Domestic hot water supply systems. Gas installation for buildings. Electrical equipment.
Problems of thermal comfort in buildings. Types of water heating systems. Heat losses for buildigs and heat balance. Type of radiators. Heat sources and their space arrangement. Boiler rooms of the central heating. Hydraulics of heating systems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students obtain overview of plumbing systems, electrical equipment and heating systems of building. They understand principal calculations for mentioned installation design. Further they will be able to orientate oneself in technical drawings. Students will be able to use this knowledge for complex economics analyses and calculations.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge about constructional systems of buildings, fundamentals of hydromechanics, fundamentals of water supply and sewerage, basic theoretic knowledge of direct and alternating current, fundamentals of heat transfer.

Co-requisites

Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics and economics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. The lectures include elaboration of basic principles, design methods and standard cases solutions. During practices the students practice calculations and relevant solutions for individually submitted building.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Compulsory attendance of exercise. Submitting of design of a family house in the credit week. Writing a written test at a satisfactory grade.
