Development of all language skills, consolidation and extending of knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary with special emphasis on language needed at work.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in Article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The assessment consists of a written test and final exam. 75% attendance and active participation in classes is required.
Course curriculum
All skill training at B2 level.
Future and future perfect tenses. Modal verbs and other tools for expressing possibility, probability and necessity. Past tenses, gerund, infinitive. Passive voice, sequence of tenses. Relative clauses. Phrase verbs, irregular verbs, word coining, nouns and prepositions. Formal and informal correspondence.
Science and technology and their developments. Present social problems. Sports and free time. Architecture and settlement development. Travelling. Cultural specificities. Environmental problems. Media and their social functions. Advertising and its social influences. Listening tasks to all topics.
