Mode of study

Not applicable.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Evaluation of corrosion atack, causes of corrosion, suggestions for the optimum corrosion prevention; material choice for given corrosion environment, design of anticorrosion coatings; evaluation of lifetime of components and coatings in given corrosion conditions.

Prerequisites

Inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, metallic materials.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The examination is oral with a period of 30 minutes for preparation. There is evaluated the knowledge of theoretical as well as practical applications of metallic materials science and the ability to choose of reasonable material for model use and orientation in contemporary trends. The volume of the knowledge required is similar to that of of lectures content.
