Course detail

Studio I - Video - winter

FaVU-B1VI-ZAcad. year: 2011/2012

The basic programme of the atelier is best described by its name: all kinds of video application, from a simple documentary film to interactive and multimedia video installations. The students learn to master the technical aspects of this (camera work, conventional editing and use of current sophisticated software); the atelier provides the students with both the equipment and courses to teach them the technical complexities.
Of course, the teaching does not concentrate on the technical side only; in their final semester projects students use the technical knowledge acquired to produce works of art in the form of an image, object or three-dimensional installation. The graduates of the atelier should be artists with versatile knowledge of visual arts, actively communicating with current post-modernist trends.
