Painting in Architecture - summer

FaVU-3MRA-LAcad. year: 2011/2012

The subject is a survey about painting in architecture in second half of the 20th century and at present; the knowledge about subject from historical point of view is taken into consideration. We will focus on the relationship of light, space, and other variables relevant to the particular projects. We will focus also on te basic dimensions of time, social aspects, and looking for the common denominator with the artist's own work.

Knowledge of important painting realizations in architecture and methodology.

Prerequisites

Detailed knowledge of art history of the20th centuryand a working knowledge of 20th century architecture.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to learn about the issues about contemporary painting in architecture, the social aspects including. The relationships of architecture to special events, genius loci, and other contexts in time and space will be considered. The subject is aimedfor artists who have the ambitions to realize their won works in architecture.
