Typology V - Agricultural Buildings

The aim is to make the students acquainted with the design of agricultural and other buildings, with the technology of animal production and plant growing, with the related activities, with the countryside and the rural pattern of life, respecting the environmental values and the protection of landscape.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Synoptic view of the contemporary development in the coutryside. Knowledge needed for designing agricultural buildings (typology of agricultural buildings and their wider relationships).

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of building design, knowledge of structural design.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Written exam. In the final classification there shall be counted 1/3 seminar evaluation, 2/3 written exam evaluation. It is necessary to gain absolute (half and more) point count in both parts of evaluation, otherwise the exam is not passed. The results of control test (max. 5 points) are bonus that is added to gained point count (to maximum amount of 100 points).

The aim is to gain the knowledge needed for architectural design of agricultural buildings, respecting the protection of the environment and the landscape.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance of lectures is not obligatory, the attendance at tutorials results from the duty to consult the assignment.
