History of Architecture II
FA-DR2Acad. year: 2011/2012
The decline of antique culture is confronted with the emergence and development of Christianity as reflected in the architecture of early Christian churches. The successive transition to feudalism is related with the acquisition, in the middle ages, of the fundamental knowledge of the rules of social development. The knowledge of the development of architecture, of its structural, material and morphological aspects, is connected with the cultural heritage of the middle ages, in which architecture plays a significant role. The acquaintance with selected examples of architecture helps in understanding the generally formulated contexts.
