Diploma Thesis Seminar

The subjet is oriented to depression of the knowledge and abilities in the area of the profesional writing communication. The result is writing of the diploma thesis. Key idea of the subject is intensification knowledge in the searching profesional sources, background research, accurany of the citation. Educate the students to plan whole process of the designing and realizing of the diploma thesis writing. Introduce them key rules of the formal and contentual standards of the diploma thesis. Educate students the effective presentation of the profesional results and defense of own opinions.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be able to:
- design project of their diploma thesis, including harmonogram of Diploma Thesis processing
- characterize key problem, set down aims, methods and way of processing
- elaborate the newest theoretical knowledge regarding the key problem according to domestical
and international sources
- realize critical analysis of current situation, eventually own research

Prerequisites

Students choose the area of interest (topic) and advisor of their diploma thesis.
Prerequisite of the subjet passing are profesional knowledge obtaining during the study and their application for the real problems solving.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Knowledge and abilities will be evaluated permanently according following results:
1) Designing of the Diploma Thesis Project, including of the harmonogram
2) Determination of the key problem, set up of the aims, methods and way of the problem solving
3) Background research of domestical and international literature to the problem
4) Critical analysis of current situation, eventually plan of the own research

Aims

Obtaining knowledge and abilities in the area of writing profesional communication.
Intensify searching and investigation knowledge of profesional sources, processing of background research, legitimacy of citation.
Educate to plan whole process of diploma thesis creating and introduce them key rules of its formal and contentual standard.
Introduce them the newest knowledge in the methodology and theory of the diploma thesis creating.
Educate them a basic rules of the effective presentation of the profesional results and own opinion defense

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Permanental control of the partial results.
