Original Abstract
The aim of this article is to present DEVSML (DEVS MetaLanguage) that is intended for implementation of simulationmodels based on the DEVS formalism. A modelimplemented by DEVSML is independent of the concretesimulation environment implementation. Furthermore, amodel can be simply and automatically transformed andused by potentially whatever DEVS-based simulationenvironment, such as DEVS/C++, DEVSJava, etc. Sincemodels are generally not portable between differentsimulation environments, it is necessary to implementmodels for every framework, which costs a lot of time andresources. DEVSML eliminates this annoyance and enablescreation of models, which can be shared between differentsimulation environments. DEVSML defines model'sstructure as well as behavior by XML (eXtensible MarkupLanguage). Transformation of models is based on the XSLtransformation. For every simulation environment, an XSLtemplate needs to be created and used for thetransformation.
