Original Abstract

Two original numerical models have been developed and used in the investigation of a continuously cast steel slab: 3D model of the temperature field ans the model of dendritic segregation of elements. The combination of both models enables the prediction of cracks and fissures in critical points of the continuously cast carbon-steel slab.
