Original Abstract

Článek představuje architekta Ernsta Wiesnera jako jednoho z prvních moderních architektů působících v Brně, a to v v období mezi dvěma světovými válkami. V textu jsou představeny nejvýznamnější Wiesnerovy realizace v centru města (např. budova Moravské banky na dnešním Náměstí svobody, přestavba tzv. Doretova dvora na Malinovského náměstí) i v zahradních čtvrtích (vily v Pisárkách: nejvýznamnější je Münzova vila). Ernst Wiesener je rovněž autorem projektu krematoria na Ústředním hřbitově.

English abstract

The article introduces the architect Ernst Wiesner, who was one of the first modern architects working in Brno during the period between the two world wars. The text presents Wiesner's most important projects in the city center (e.g. the building of the Moravian Bank on today's Freedom Square, the reconstruction of the so-called Doret's Court on Malinovsky Square) and in the garden quarters (villas in Pisárky: the most important is the Münz Villa). Ernst Wiesener is also the author of the crematorium project at the Central Cemetery.
