Original Abstract

It is a well known fact, that the radiation energy transfer plays an important role in the energy balance of thermal plasma such as those found in electric arcs. A fast and accurate calculation of such transfer is thus highly desirable for any arc simulation. The radiation properties database thus plays crucial role in the entire simulation process. In this contribution, we investigate the effect of data obtained from various atomic lines databases on the radiation transfer calculations. We show, that there are some important differences between the available databases and evaluate the impact they have on the radiation transfer calculations. Finally, we compare the theoretical spectrum to the experimental ones in an attempt to asses the accuracy each database provides.
