Original Abstract

Time dependant characteristics of the flow developing around backward facing step were studied. Large eddy simulation was employed and results were compared with LDA measurements. Dominant frequency of the coherent structures was investigated for three values of Reynolds number. Good correspondance between computation and experiment was obtained except for the highest Reynolds number.
