Original Abstract

The paper describes design and development of a multipurpose control card for control, management, data acquisition and processing for use in distributed fiber optical sensing systems. Both, design of the hardware platform and the implementation of the code for gate arrays are presented. In addition to the measurements on the test polygon, the system was also verified on a reference measurement. The evaluation consisted of measuring the signal while a person walk above a buried optical cable.
