Original Abstract
We designed and constructed fully automatic fundus camera which is capable of acquisition of the back of the eye (retina). This device can be used for medical and even for biometric applications. Patient or user (based on application) only puts his head into support structure, which fix his head by supporting forehead and chin, and then he looks ahead. The device will search for the center of eye, detects iris and pupil. After it micro-manipulator will center camera to axis of optical system. Then will activate the fixation point, which will be followed by users eye. Now camera, with additional illumination system, can capture frontal image of optical disk and fovea. Then device can tilt the optical system to side (or any other direction) and perform another image acquisition to cover different part retina. After image stitching resulting image can after much more area then classic frontal image (7 stitched images can cover 2,4 times greater area).
