Original Abstract

The issue of rehabilitation of buildings due to the effects of soil and atmospheric humidity is very difficult and in the field of present civil engineering it creates an independent and highly specialized discipline. The paper deals with laboratory determination of the efficiency of the mechanical methods for rehabilitation of damp brick masonry against the effect of ground capillary moisture. The assessed materials of mechanical undercut masonry are bitumen waterproofing and waterproofing membranes and also mechanically hammered in waterproofing metal sheet made of high-quality stainless steel. The comparison was made not only between particular materials, but also with reference samples without previous waterproofing.
