Při měření parametrů motorových vozidel je možné se setkat se situací, že je vyžadováno, aby v průběhu měřicí procedury zůstávala poloha odpružené hmoty (karoserie, nástavba) ve stálé poloze vůči neodpružené hmotě (kola vozidla). Jedná se např. o měření výškové polohy těžiště vozidla, měření aerodynamických účinků vozidla v aerodynamickém tunelu. Při využití tohoto přípravku je možné zafixovat polohu karoserie v potřebné výšce (v omezeném rozsahu je možné nastavení výšky karoserie na přední a zadní nápravě). Na přední nápravě fixační přípravek nahrazuje spojovací tyč stabilizátoru (MacPherson), na zadní je umístěn uvnitř šroubové pružiny. V případě aerodynamických měření tak tyto přípravky jen minimálně ovlivňují proudění vzduchu. Funkční vzorek je navržen pro přední zavěšení MacPherson vozidel koncernu VW a zadní zavěšení s pružinou na nápravě mimo tlumič.

During the measurements of the characteristics of road vehicles, various scenarios demanding the sprung parts of the vehicle (bodywork and extensions) to remain in fixed position relative to the unsprung parts (wheels) in the course of the whole measuring procedure can turn up. These are for example measurements of the height of vehicle centre of gravity, or measurements of aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle in a wind tunnel. By using this device, it is possible to fix the bodywork position in the needed position (it is possible to set the front and rear ride height). The device replaces the connecting rod of a anti-roll bar on the front axle (MacPherson). It is mounted inside a coil spring on the rear axle. Fixation devices minimizing the influence on the air flow. The device is designed for MacPherson front suspension as used in the vehicles of VW Group and for the rear suspension with the coil spring outside the shock absorber.
