Podstatou metody je určení množství dopadající vody ve stopě trysky na jednotku plochy. Vodovzdušná směs vstupuje otvorem do prostoru detektoru, kde je oddělen vzduch a voda. Voda stéká do nádoby a je zjišťován přírůstek hmotnosti v čase. Detektor je připevněn na XY polohovací zařízení. Postupně je proměřena celá dopadová stopa trysky. Měřicí a polohovací systém je řízen počítačem.

Principal of device work is to determine amount of water reaching unit surface area. Air-mist spray enter orifice into detector space where air and water is separated. Water flows into a vessel, increasing of water weight in time is measured. The detector is connected to XY positioning system. Nozzle footprint is scanned step by step. Measuring and positioning system is controlled by computer.
