Zdrojem tepla pro termoelektrický generátor je teplo spalin odcházejících z automatického teplovodního kotle Verner A251.1 o výkonu 25 kW spalující dřevní peletky. Generátor se skládá ze dvou přírub a vlastního těla generátoru tvořeného segmentem (příp. segmenty) s termoelektrickými moduly a jejich chlazením. Segmentová konstrukce umožňuje přidávání dalších částí, výkon zařízení tak může být zvyšován. Každý segment obsahuji čtveřici termoelektrických modulů spojených do série a umístěných vně generátoru. Spaliny odcházející výstupním hrdlem kotle přichází přívodní přírubou, předávají generátoru teplo a postupují odchozí přírubou dále do kouřovodu a k ústí komínu. Chlazení generátoru zajišťuje vodní okruh s čerpadlem. Ten, přes deskový výměník předává teplo vodě v otopné soustavě.

The experimental device consists of a biomass boiler and a designed external TEG located in a flue gas duct. The heat source for a test generator is an automatic biomass boiler Verner A251.1 with nominal rated heat output 25 kW. The boiler burn wood pellets. The thermoelectric generator is constructed from independent segments. Such a construction allows to connect additional segments with other thermoelectric modules between the inlet and outlet section of the generator and therefore to increase the output electric power. The segment consists from four modules connected electrically in series. The thermoelectric modules are placed around the segment. Gaseous combustion products are flowing through the generator and warm up the generator placed inside the duct.
