Interaction between a construction and the rock environment can occur in many ways. The most serious of them are those affecting the technology of earthwork or the stability of the structure of the object being carried out, and hence the safety of its operation. This paper documents at a selected site the use of the method of electrical impedance spectrometry in monitoring changes of electrical conductance of soil in the body of an embankment dam due to its variable water load
