Abstract
Electroencephalography and functional magnetic resonance imaging belong between modalities of brain activity measuring. Several publications with results of joint EEG/fMRI analysis have been realesed in last few years. But none software that would automate calculations has been published. A software EEG Regressor Builder that is preparing regressors from EEG signals was created for this purpose. Regressors are estimated as temporal changes of absolute or relative power values of EEG signals at specific frequency band of interest from selected electrodes of interest. Results are saved into a data structure compatible with freely available software SPM8 (Statistical Parametric Mapping) after the completion of the calculation. SPM8 is used to analyze separate fMRI data. SPM loads results of EEG Regressor Builder and completes the rest of EEG/fMRI analysis together with fMRI data as general linear model estimation. EEG Regressor Builder can calculate the complete EEG/fMRI analysis without running SPM8 software if both are installed on the computer and if path to preprocessed fMRI data on harddisk is added as input parameter. The program can be controlled via a graphical interface or a startup script.
