Original Abstract

Magnesium is highly explored metallic element because of its physical properties. Enormous weight to strength ratio is the reason why is magnesium and its alloys considered to be one the most perspective metals in partical use. Unfortunately, magnesium and its alloys have a substantial disadvantage - low resistance to corrosion. The only way how to put magnesium alloys into place is study its corrosion behavior and find the appropriate protection. Our team tried to treat few samples of AZ31 and Mg-Zn-Ca magnesium alloys properly and afterwards to simulate corrosion conditions in presence of microorganisms.
