Original Abstract

Technický pokrok a nové špeciálne vlastnosti stavebných materiálov poznamenávajú tvár dnešnej architektúry a rovnako ako v minulosti ju premieňajú na trvalý odkaz budúcim generáciám. Jedným z nich je betón, ktorý bol v minulosti z estetického hľadiska veľmi podceňovaný. Jeho dve základné vlastnosti, pevnosť a odolnosť, z neho urobili nenahraditeľný materiál pri realizácii mnohých stavieb a objektov. Je potešujúce, že sa k týmto pozitívam začína pridávať aj jeho estetický potenciál.

English abstract

The technical progress and new special qualities of building materials affect the appereance of contemporary architecture. Same as in the past this process transforms architecture into permanent legacy for the future generations. One of these materials is concrete, significantly underestimated in the past. Two of its basic characteristics - strength and hardiness made concrete an indispensable building material. It's gratifying, that these assets is starting to accompany aesthetical potential.
