Original Abstract

The paper deals with the measurement of the temperature field (by thermocouples), and the velocity field (by a cooled dynamic pressure sensor)of the free jet generated by the water stabilised torch far from the arc heaters output. The parameters at the output are measured (temperature by spectroscopy) and calculated (continuity equation, energy equation). The method of the evaluation and necessary correction of measured data is described.
