Original Abstract

In the case when only one musical instrument is playing, many higher harmonics component are present in the spectrogram too. Systems for automatic need to recognize which of the harmonics are real tones and which are only higher harmonics. In this paper the tone-mapping algorithm is described, which is a very important part of the system for automatic notation.
